Just being a malaysian...

..an add on to JT's and Frank's entries...

ATTN: NOTE THAT I DID NOT WRITE THIS ARTICLE. GOT THIS FROM A FORWARDED MAIL

Just being a Malaysian

NATIONAL EXCUSE FOR HAIR LOSS: Maggi Mee.
NATIONAL EXCUSE FOR BEING LATE: Traffic Jam.
NATIONAL CONDOM: None. Most Malaysians still feel embarrassed buying condoms. So they rushed into a 7-11, hurriedly grab the nearest pack, any pack, pay and leave before the cashier can even blink an eye.
NATIONAL FRUIT FOR INDUCING MENSTRUATION: Pineapple
NATIONAL APHRODISIAC DRINK: Stout. Many swear by it. But after a few pints they start swearing at everything...
NATIONAL FAKE ILLNESS FOR GETTING MC (MEN): Food Poisoning.
NATIONAL FAKE ILLNESS FOR GETTING MC (WOMEN): Menstrual Pain
NATIONAL EXCUSES GIVEN BY WOMEN WHEN REFUSING SEX: Headache, kids not asleep, maid not asleep, mother-in-law around, early appointment, food not digested yet, aircond not cold enough, aircond too cold, nail polish not dry yet, forgot to take the pill, sleepy, stomach cramps, period, haven't remove make-up, haven't shower, no water supply, going to watch "Santa Barbara", depress, no mood, etc...
NATIONAL EXCUSES GIVEN BY MEN WHEN REFUSING SEX: None. Malaysian men never refuse sex. (oh ya??)
NATIONAL CURE FOR HEADACHES: Panadol. The "cure for all". If it fails we have another secret weapon; Tiger Balm.
NATIONAL CURE FOR DIZZINESS: Minyak Angin Cap Kapak.
NATIONAL CAUSE OF DIZZINESS (FOR YUPPIES): Happy Hours.
NATIONAL INSTANT CURE FOR DIZZINESS (FOR YUPPIES): The sight of a police road block.
NATIONAL RUBBISH DUMP: Anywhere. As long as it is not your house.
NATIONAL MOST MIS-PRONOUNCED NAME: Carrefour. Sometimes even pronounced as Carry 4! On second thoughts, why bother pronouncing stupid French brands like Peugeot, Renault or Citroen correctly. I think it sounds better, when the local mechanics say "Pew Jeot". When I was in school, Milo was always 'Mee Lo', now that I'm sophisticated, I say "My Lo". So don't be embarassed saying "Carry 4" when the Mat Sallehs shamelessly pronounce orang utan as "rangutan".
NATIONAL ROADSIDE DISTRACTION: The Bra-less Tourist. See how heads turn and traffic slows down when a bra-less Mat Salleh backpacker goes bouncing about on the streets.

Amazing !!!!

Have you ever been so amazed by your own species... Totally wonderfully amazed by their creativity, their wits, their visions...?

Let me share these with you...

Can't help but it truly reminds me of how much we are like HIM for after all we are created in HIS image. All the glory and honour to our CREATOR GOD!

Little invention gives more conveniences...

ever heard of DVD rewinder or driv-emocion or head bath cap or Toilet Paper Dispenser with iPod Dock or Bra That Doubles As Shopping Bag or ... or...

Harrr...Monday already???

Wow... time sure flies.. and fast too. Look, we are in the middle of April and that's like another 8 months to 2008!!!

What have i done so far? Hehe... my MSN pm " I wanna be an FBI " that's is used to remind and remind and remind me that by the end of this year, I would be an FBI..a Faithful Bible Investigator.. YES!!! O yes i pray for my azam 2007 and God provided the way as He always will...He never fails.. as in the times of Abraham. Isaac, Jacob, Moses etc etc.. He is indeed Jehovah Jireh the Provider. So how did i make it so far? It is an uphill task. I am amazed and praise God for Aaron WIH who is already so faithful and committed in the task assigned. Aaron, is you are reading this, i want you to know that i am encouraged by you in the way you modelled yourself in the ministry. I pray that God will bless you tremendously and use you mightily too. Wow!!! Won't that be just great!?

SO how did i fare so far?
1. TO BE AN FBI - in process (though it is really really tough. Required A LOT of discipline - time discipline that is, for me anyway.)
2. Haven't evangelized to anyone yet this year (not counting the sunday school children).

A friend once asked, " Busy life? Is there any busy life for you?" Well, i said that a life is only busy if we live it with a purpose. Yeah, a Purpose Driven Life.
After going through the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, i am convicted that these are the two (2) purposes of my life:-

1. THE GREAT COMMANDMENT :
To love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, with all my strength; Love my neighbours as myself

2. THE GREAT COMMISSION:
Mat 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Yupe! That's the TWO(2) purposes.

Yesterday, we had an evangelistic party for the children. It was fun.. the turnout was very encouraging. Hahaha... praise the Lord, my class was overcrowded... same went for the other classes too. i believed we hit over 120 children. Now we need to sort out the churched and un-churched so that we can carry out the Great Commission. Yeah! Teachers, bless everyone of you, you did a great job. Praise the Lord.

JUST ANOTHER MANIC MONDAY..

This game is interesting.... haha
MacDonald's Video Game Try it..

Today is MONDAY... where all things are 'pushed' 'geared' into routine again... sigh
i wish it was still sunday.... a day of rest, a day of enjoying God's creation, take time slowly... be with loved ones... Wish it was SUNDAY..

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream

But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time

'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down

He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
When you're having fun

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
It's just another manic Monday

GOD & THE SPIDER

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific
island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire,
he had lost touch with his comrades.

Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction.
Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small
caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although
safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for
him came up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would
be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me.
Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen."

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close.
He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this
one."

Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave. As he
watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider
layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.

"Ha," he thought. "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent
me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor."

As the enemy drew closer, he watched from the darkness of his hideout and
could see them searching one cave after another.

As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement,
however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on.
Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave
looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.
"Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in you, a
spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget
what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways.

And remember, with God, a mere spider's web becomes a brick wall of
protection.

Woooohhh!!!! Slow....

THE BRICK

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no child appeared...instead, a brick smashed into the Jaguar's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jaguar back to the spot where the brick had been thrown.

The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"

The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," he pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.

"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message:

Don't go through life so fast that someone has

to throw a brick at you to get your attention.

God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts.

Sometimes when we don't have time to listen,

He has to throw a brick at us.

It's our choice to listen or not.

HUMBLED!!

I was reading Job 38-39 last night and was SILENCED by all the questions...

(Matthew Henry's commentary)
....but we are of yesterday and know nothing. Let us not therefore find fault with the works of God, nor prescribe to him. He did not consult us in making the world, and yet it is well made; why should we expect then that he should take his measures from us in governing it?

I am humbled...
Psalms 100:1-5 KJVR
(1) A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
(2) Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
(3) Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
(4) Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
(5) For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Chinese New Year

As i was tagging at the chatbox earlier on, my heart suddenly felt 'heavy' and kinda lonesome. I guess i must be missing you guyz and dollz out there who are not able to make it home this year to celebrate the Chinese New Year with your families and friends.

*sniff, sniff*

Wherever you are during this festive occasion, do call up your families and friends and wish them well, remember them in your prayers. I once told JT that "your presence will always be missed, daily, cos wherever we looked, things around the house will always remind those back home of you." Your presence missed at the dining table, your favourite tv chair is (Oh no!) occupied by the family dog/cat.... the list goes on.

Heheh.. Well, i'm getting teary-eyed...*sniff*

Do have a meaningful time out there too. Take care of yourself.

YooHoo...love is in the air

Its is happening everywhere..on the streets, in the shops, in schools, everywhere...the message is CLEAR... LOVE IS IN THE AIR.

Love is in the air
Everywhere I look around
Love is in the air
Every sight and every sound

And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in your eyes

Love is in the air
In the whisper of the trees
Love is in the air
In the thunder of the sea

And I don't know if I'm just dreaming
Don't know if I feel sane
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when you call out my name

Love is in the air
Love is in the air
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

Love is in the air
In the rising of the sun
Love is in the air
When the day is nearly done

And I don't know if you're an illusion
Don't know if I see it true
But you're something that I must believe in
And you're there when I reach out for you

Love is in the air
everywhere I look around
Love is in the air
Every sight and every sound
And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise

But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in your eyes

Love is in the air ohh ohhh ;
love is in the air ooh ooh ohh

All great and wonderful songs rite?

Remember your first love? The very moment that you made the decision to give your heart and surrender your life to? I have been through many valentines and this year i want to really celebrate and Remember how I made that decision to surrender whole-heartedly to the One who loves me so much that He is willing to lay down His life for me. I want to celebrate that because of Him, I am who I am today, the way He loves me, nurture me and guide me, the way He forgives me whenever I wronged Him, the way He comforts when I need a shoulder to cry on. Because of Him I lack nothing. I have no regrets. I won't dare to think what my live would be like without Him.

He is my everything
He is my all
He is my everything
Both great and small
He gave His life for me
Made everything new
He is my everything
Now what about you?

A Blessed and wonderful valentine to all of you. God loves you too!!

CAT 2 Chpt 2 Introduction to Computer Systems

This is for the Paper 2 Students. remember what i said in the class on chapter 2

Tech Support: "I need you to right-click on the Open Desktop".
Customer: "OK".
Tech Support: "Did you get a pop-up menu?".
Customer: "No".
Tech Support: "OK. Right-Click again. Do you see a pop-up menu?"
Customer: "No".
Tech Support: "OK, sir. Can you tell me what you have done up until this point?".
Customer: "Sure. You told me to write 'click' and I wrote 'click'".Virus infected pc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tech Support: "OK. In the bottom left hand side of the screen, can you see the 'OK' button displayed?"
Customer: "Wow. How can you see my screen from there?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Caller: "I deleted a file from my PC last week and I have just realised that I need it. If I turn my system clock back two weeks will I have my file back again?".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's always one. This has got to be one of the funniest things in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. This is a true story from the Word Perfect Helpline, which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the Help Desk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the Word Perfect organization for "Termination without Cause".
Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee. (Now I know why they record these conversations!):

Operator: "Ridge Hall, computer assistance; may I help you?"
Caller: "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect."
Operator: "What sort of trouble??"
Caller: "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."
Operator: "Went away?"
Caller: "They disappeared."
Operator: "Hmm So what does your screen look like now?"
Caller: "Nothing."
Operator: "Nothing??"
Caller: "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."
Operator: "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out??"
Caller: "How do I tell?"
Operator: "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen??"
Caller: "What's a sea-prompt?"
Operator: "Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?"
Caller: "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type."
Operator: "Does your monitor have a power indicator??"
Caller: "What's a monitor?"
Operator: "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on??"
Caller: "I don't know."
Operator: "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that??"
Caller: "Yes, I think so."
Operator: "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall.
Caller: "Yes, it is."
Operator: "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one??"
Caller: "No."
Operator: "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."
Caller: "Okay, here it is."
Operator: "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."
Caller: "I can't reach."
Operator: "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is??"
Caller: "No."
Operator: "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over??"
Caller: "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark."
Operator: "Dark??"
Caller: "Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window.
" Operator: "Well, turn on the office light then."
Caller: "I can't."
Operator: "No? Why not??"
Caller: "Because there's a power failure."
Operator: "A power......... A power failure? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now.
Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in??"
Caller: "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."
Operator: "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."
Caller: "Really? Is it that bad?"
Operator: "Yes, I'm afraid it is."
Caller: "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them??"
Operator: "Tell them you're too f*%ing stupid to own a computer!!!!!"

WIFE vs HUSBAND...

hahahaha...muahahaha...

These are JUST FOR LAUGHS!! Have a wonderful day.

A couple drove down a country road for several miles,
not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an
argument and neither of them wanted to concede their
position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats,
and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically,
>>"Relatives of yours?"
"Yep," the wife replied,"In-laws."

WORDS
A husband read an article to his wife about how many
words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we
have to repeat everything to men...The husband then
turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

CREATION
A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you
can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same
time. " The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God
made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me;
God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who
should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up
first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get
our coffee."
The husband said, " You are in charge of
cooking around here and you should do it, because that
is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee."

Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it
is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New
Testament and showed him at the top of several pages,
that it indeed says.........."HEBREWS"

The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home
and were giving each other the silent treatment.
Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would
need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early
morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first
to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece
of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it
where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the
man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and
he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go
and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he
noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said,
"It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is
always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

SSsshh... yes, they are resting... and I am surfing...

Remember Aesop's Fables... in the 80s? I'd like to share this with you.

The Ass and His masters

AN ASS, belonging to an herb-seller who gave him too little food
and too much work made a petition to Jupiter to be released from
his present service and provided with another master. Jupiter,
after warning him that he would repent his request, caused him to
be sold to a tile-maker. Shortly afterwards, finding that he had
heavier loads to carry and harder work in the brick-field, he
petitioned for another change of master. Jupiter, telling him
that it would be the last time that he could grant his request,
ordained that he be sold to a tanner. The Ass found that he had
fallen into worse hands, and noting his master's occupation,
said, groaning: "It would have been better for me to have been
either starved by the one, or to have been overworked by the
other of my former masters, than to have been bought by my
present owner, who will even after I am dead tan my hide, and
make me useful to him."

The moral of the story is :
He that finds discontentment in one place
is not likely to find happiness in another

Wadaya say? I totally agree. If one is always so discontented, one will always be discontent.

FLU SEASON...achoo!

Hello...hope this posting find you in a fine state of health. Fit as a fiddle.

k-r-a-z-i-e me

Came across a hang-on-your-car-windscreen sign. It says : My kids drive me crazy and i drive them everywhere. How true. Some of you might not know, i have three children aged 17, 15 and 14 this year. friends (whom i have not met for quite some time) always commented that i am very fortunate that my kids are all 'grown', unlike their, still needing mommy here and there...sigh..i guess their children are still young, still dependent. Well, frankly speaking (and from experience) it is quite true that at a tender age (below 7yrs old) their children are still 'mouldable', still obedient. 还好乖哦..

BUT YES! MY KIDS!! they really drive me with their school schedule, sports and practice timetable, their uniform-club activities, tuitions times and routes...

So...if you do see this on the road, it'll probably just be me...rushing..just to get them to their destination on time... erm got to go fetch them from school...

My first day , my first class in 2007

Starting my first day with my first CAT Paper 2 students was rather different. Usually my class consists of about 20-30 students. Haha! when i stepped into THIS class... i felt so out of place...the population: 11 cute and shy guyz and dollz..

Play before work... As usual...new students, new lecturer..i need to break some ice..brrr..else it will be difficult for the class to interact and work together...what more to say for me.

The last game..."creative story telling" really melted the ice and there was much discussion and laughter..Glad that the tension and shyness were gone.

Some pics/videos taken for your viewing pleasure.

To my new readers (CATPaper2 students) welcome to my blog. To the rest of you, thank you for dropping by. Have a blessed day today. God bless.
