Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0
to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down
in the overall performance,
particularly in the flower, gifts and
jewellery applications that had
operated flawlessly under Boyfriend
5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed
many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5,
but installed undesirable programs such
as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World
Cup 2.0.

And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs
and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes
the system. I've tried running Nagging
5.3 to fix these problems, but to no
avail.

What can I do?

Dear Desperate Housewife,

First keep in mind:

Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment
package, while Husband 1.0 is an
operating system.

Try entering the command C:\ I THOUGHT
YOU LOVED ME and download Tears 6.2 to
install Guilt 3.0 ..

If all works as designed, Husband 1.0
should then automatically run the
applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers
3.5.

But remember, overuse can cause Husband
1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5,
Happy Hour 7.0 or Late Night Teh Tarik
6.1.

Late Night 6.1 is a very bad program
that will create SnoringLoudly.wav
files.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-
in-Law 1.0 or reinstall another
Boyfriend program. These are not
supported applications and will crash
Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great
program, but it does have a limited
memory and cannot learn new
applications quickly.

You might consider additional software
to improve memory and performance. I
personally recommend Hot Tasty Food 3.0
and Tongkat Ali 6.9.

The Donkey

THE DONKEY

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried
piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be
covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all
grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to
veryone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He
was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and
take a step up.


As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the
animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon,
everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of
the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to
getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells
just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.


Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less

The donkey later came back, and bit the shit out of the farmer who had
tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer
eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes
back to bite you.

Datuk Najib was thinking about sending somebody
into space. Three potential can-or-nauts were
called for an interview - one Indian, one Malay
and one Chinese.

Najib interviews the Indian first: "So,
Muthu, this is a dangerous mission.
How much do you think you should be paid?"
Muthu replied: "Ten million ringgit."
"Why so much?" asks Najib.
"Very dangerous mission, Datuk. Maybe no come
back!" replied Muthu.
"That's understandable," says Najib. "Thank you..

Please ask the Malay guy to come here,"
So the Malay walks up, and is asked the same question.
"Alamak!...20 million, Datuk," replied the Malay candidate.
"Twenty million? That's twice as much! Even the aneh before you
asked for only ten million."
"You see, Datuk," explains Mat, "I have 4
wives and 15 children ... With 20 of us, it is a big
family to support when I am gone...!"
"I see," says D.Najib. "Okay, can you ask that Chinese guy to come then?"

The Chinese guy comes in and Najib asks, "Ah Chong,
given this is a very risky mission, how much do you want?"
Ah Chong thinks for a while, and says, "30 million."
Najib appears shocked. "What?!? 30 million!
Why so much?"
Ah Chong beckons Najib to come closer.
He quietly whispers into his ear,
"Datuk, you take 10 million, i take 10 million,
and then use the extra ten million, send that aneh to space lah!"

And...the Muthu was finally sent out to space.....

Hi fellow GMCians!

Roseline and I were unable to attend the Fri & Sat sessions, but it was a blessing to be part of yesterday's program! Four years ago my wife and I renewed our marriage vows at a similar program organized by our church, and it was a privilege to do it again last night. After 23 years together we are still learning how to develop a healthy marriage and our job is done much easier through God's grace and love. Teck Chung, we applaud you for a job well-done! Two thumbs up to you!

We had dinner at Mahogony Room, Eastwood Golf and Country Club. For starters, there was karaoke. I was stunned to discover so many karaoke superstars from GMC! And I was thrown out of orbit when they sang! I now know for sure we won't be lacking of Praise and Worship singers. Maggie sugggested a brilliant idea - we should organize a Couple's Night where parents/couples can de-stress and enjoy an evening of dinner and dance. Isn't this a great idea (without your kids around)? If you have more suggestions, do let us know - your input will be much appreciated.

May I say all of us present last night were touched by Siu Ling's testimony - how she and her husband Kheng Jin found our Father's love and favor in times of adversity, the story of their three daughters and how their bondage of being unchurched was broken by a NZ Christian family. Thank you Siu Ling and Kheng Jin, for reminding us Psalm 23.

Our visiting Pastor, the good Rev Dr Herbert Tam was very impressed and reminded us that GMCians have a strong sense of community and support.

So how would I describe yesterday? To put it simply,

Roseline and I experienced yesterday Lord, Your overflowing Spirit.

Dear brothers and sisters of Grace Methodist Church, I consider myself very honored to be able to participate in our recent marriage enhancement seminar. Never did I realise how much we (Alicia + myself) would have miss the very important skills in managing a healthy and blessed family had we not attended. Indeed the following quotation is very valid: "This is a church for the whole family. Here, we emphasise the importance of belonging and serving the Body of Christ. We believe our Church (whole family of Christ) will help you maximise your potential in Christ, maintain a loving relationship with God and your fellowmen, and equip you for service." Brother Hurbert coined us the seminar group as the community gathering. I shared with Alicia that was what I prayed all along, that GMC will be a community church and our youth will be an intergral part of it. Well, God again answered my prayer and called us all to be faithful. God will take over from now on and we will enjoy the fruits only if we trust and obey in Him. I pray that we will allow God to do just that. Today, the words for me is: When I grow old, Lord I pray that I will see the fruits of my labor and rejoice, knowing that all my efforts were well worth the time and energy I put into them. Amen. To all who attended the marriage enhacement seminar, I wish you peace and harmony in your family setting. For those who miss it, no worries, there will be opportunity to catch up.
