Finals!!!!

I can hear this word everywhere. Yes, the time has come (some of you might have finished it by now) to see how far you have accomplished in life. Pass it and it is proven that you are moving on and in the green zone. Fail it and it is understandable that you need to put in extra effort to pass that line. CRUCIAL and excruciating effort!!! Do your best and there should be no regrets.. unless of cos you spend most of your time idling and then perk up at the last minute. Boy oh boy.. .. .. that's bad.

I wish you all the best in your finals and may God be with you. Till then..cheers!!!

HEAVEN ENTRANCE EXAM

PhotobucketA man dies and goes to Heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into Heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."

"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."

"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!"

"Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service."

"Terrific!" says St. Peter. "That's certainly worth a point."

"One point?!!" "I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."

"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says.

"Two points!?!!" Exasperated, the man cries. "At this rate the only way I'll get into Heaven is by the grace of God."

"Bingo, 100 points! Come on in!"

Thanx Tim & Lori!

PhotobucketFrom rebellion to responsibility???

from>> http://www.thinkchristian.net/index.php/2008/10/28/from-rebellion-to-responsibility/

Posted October 28th @ 4:43 pm by Andy

Ran across an interesting book review today of Sam Anderson’s Five Lives, which charts the lives of five famous cultural rebels: Arthur Rimbaud, Emily Post, Hugh Hefner, John Lennon, and Eminem. It’s a motley crew, but their life trajectories share many elements in common. All lacked attentive fathers in their youth, and all burst onto the scene with shocking or challenging moral messages and then struggled for the rest of their lives in the shadow of their initial outbursts. From the review:

All five of these figures warmed their hands around a common fire: the public performance of morality. Fatherlessness seems to have frozen them in a kind of permanent adolescence. They answered adult questions (How should one behave?) prematurely and exaggeratedly, then stubbornly clung to those answers for life. Their careers were built entirely on bad manners—whether excoriating them, glorifying them, or reveling in them. They sacrificed their lives to oversize visions of righteous living. And while they all have their own special failures and triumphs—that’s what makes them fit for biography—the saddest figures, to me, for precisely opposite reasons, are Rimbaud and Hefner. The French poet burned through his world-stomping revolutionary phase in less time than it takes most people to finish college. By 19, he was facing a whole second lifetime of pure sad, unheroic frustration: He wound up in Africa, trying unsuccessfully to get rich, and died of very painful cancer at 37. Hefner, on the other hand, still clings to his adolescence. At 82, he brags of being a “babe magnet” and collects young platinum-blonde “girlfriends.”

Sounds like a fascinating book. And it makes me wonder about the firebrands of Christian history and how their lives played out. Who’s your favorite Christian “rebel”—and after they arrived loudly on the scene of Christendom, how did they live out their lives? Did they quietly work in pursuit of their original message? Did they flame out dramatically? Or spend the rest of their lives slowly backing down from the message or theology they preached in their (spiritual) youth?

Purging, PRUNING...

well..i've survive the purification process, the purging, pruning, burning .... the preparation of me to embark on a new spiritual journey has ended..

As I looked back to the whole 40 days of purpose campaign in my church GMC, I have witnessed first hand life transformations. As I work with the youths in my church, I have learnt to understand them better each day, each week, each month. What make they behave the way they behave.

Aunty KG asked me on 10th August, during our celebration luncheon "What are the blessings in my life in these 40 DOP?"

Well........

This first one really touched me, encouraged me and fueled me up to meet more challenges in the youth ministry.

On the night of the 40DOP promotion in the youth fellowship, I challenged the youth to 'see' how their spiritual walk with God was in the form of a plant.

1. She sees herself as a young plant which has been growing for some time. She mentioned that the plant was not growing well due to the weeds growing around it.

I asked her to pray about it and really seek God and ask Him what He wants to tell her about her spiritual growth in Him.

Days later, we managed to catch up and I followed up on the 'plant'. She shared the plant is subjected to a lot of weed influence and thus the growth was stunted. I probed further and enquire as to how she should respond to the 'message'. ' Erm... pull the weeds??' she asked. What are the weeds?

2 weeks later, she related to me that somehow or rather, her friends are showing their true colours..showing their other sides..(if you know what I mean).. she was aware of their gossipping, and back-stabbing. She was hurt. Then one by one, these friends left her.. and she has no idea why..

Purpose and passion in life

Eleanor Roosevelt said it best..."The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

Marcia Wieder, however, brings Eleanor's quote to life in her new book titled: Dreams Are Whispers from the Soul, where she challenges all of us to pursue our purpose and passion in life.

start anew...

Lord of the Universe, be Lord of me, loosing bonds of all wickedness , setting me free...break every yoke that has separate me from You, Lord of the Universe, be King of me.

Teach me O Lord, to be like them, faithfully serving, forgetting self and honoring Thee, putting aside self and ministering to others.

Thank you Lord for brothers and sisters such as these.

Teach me to be like them Lord, humble and available to serve You, to forget about myself and and focus on Thee.

Lord, these 40 Days, i commit to thee, i surrender myself to thee. Teach me Lord, mold me Lord, guide me Lord, use me Lord.

In Jesus' name. Amen

DO YOU KNOW??

Do you know where you are going to - Diana Ross
Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know?
Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door
What are you hoping for?
Do you know?
Once we were standing still in time
Chasing the fantasies that filled our minds
You knew i loved you, but my spirit was free
Laughing at the question that you once ask me
Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know?
Now, looking back in all we pass
We've let so many dreams just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long before we see
How sad the answers to those questions can be?
Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? do you know?
Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door
What are you hoping for? do you know?

FA1/2

clockwise or anticlockwise??

This is quite amazing..
If you see this lady turning in clockwise you are using your right brain.
If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.

If you try to see it the other way and if you do see, your IQ is above 160 which is almost a genius.
Then see if you can make her go one way and then the other by shifting the brain's current.
BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN BE SEEN
This was proved at Yale University, over a 5 year study on the human brain
and it's functions. Only 14% of the US population can see her move both ways.

job or ministry?? fwd: by Michael Lee

working Dear All,

A timely reminder for all of us, be challenged. God bless! Michael Lee

MINISTRY VS JOB
Some people have a JOB in the church; others involve themselves in a MINISTRY.
What's the difference?
If you are doing it just because no one else will, it's a JOB.
If you are doing it to serve the Lord, it's a MINISTRY.
If you quit because somebody criticized you, it was a JOB.
If you keep on serving, it's a MINISTRY.
If you'll do it only as long as it does not interfere with your other activities, it's a JOB.
If you are committed to staying with it even when it means letting go of other things, it's a MINISTRY.
If you quit because no one praised you or thanked you, it was a JOB.
If you stay with it even though nobody recognizes your efforts, it is a MINISTRY.
It's hard to get excited about a JOB.
It's almost impossible not to be excited about a MINISTRY.
If our concern is success, it's a JOB.
If our concern is faithfulness, it's a MINISTRY.
An average church is filled with people doing JOBs.
A great and growing church is filled with people involved in MINISTRY.
Where do we fit in? What about us?
If God calls you to a MINISTRY, don't treat it like a JOB.
If you have a JOB, give it up and find a MINISTRY.
God does not want us feeling stuck with a JOB, but excited and faithful to Him in a MINISTRY.

Inspired by last month's (L) China protest that found 2.3 million followers, MSN China itself has launched the Signature Rainbow campaign to pray for the ten thousands of victims of the Sichuan/Wenchuan earthquake in China that occured on Monday, May 12th 2008.

Through the campaign, MSN China is calling all Messenger users to put the default rainbow emoticon in front of their nicknames in order to express collective belief in post-disaster reconstruction. The rainbow of course symbolizes the positive message that "there's always a rainbow after the rain". MSN China also suggests entering your prayers/wishes as your personal status message, eg. "Overcoming the Earthquake" or "There will always be a rainbow after the storm".

Chinese Names - Annie Wan (Anyone)

Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan? ( anyone)
Operator : Yes, you can speak to me.

Caller: No, I want to speak to Annie Wan!

Operator: You are talking to someone! Who is this?

Caller: I'm Sam Wan ( someone) And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent.

Operator: I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's this urgent matter about?

Caller: Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother Noel Wan ( no one ) was involved in an accident. Noel Wan got injured and now Noel Wan is being sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan (every one) is on his way to the hospital.

Operator: Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't have time for this!

Caller: You are so rude! Who are you?

Operator: I'm Saw Lee. (sorry)

Caller: Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name!!

Have a nice day.lol

Hectic

Woooah!!! These few days have been a blur, whirling by in the blink of an eye...Praise the Lord, the flyers and all related items are ready for the briefing this 28th April. hahaha haven't a blinking idea of what i am talking about??? read more here

Well anyway... i love these... 7 REASONS NOT TO MESS WITH CHILDREN

7 reasons not to mess with a child (True Stories):

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?" Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother has several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?" Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white." The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture. "Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.' A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.." "Yes," the class said. "Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?" A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: "Take only ONE. God is watching." Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples.
